I take my dog to the Saratoga springs,by petsmart all the time for a groom! When I brought him on Thursday December 17,2015 for his appointment I forgot his rabies paperwork, so they would not groom him!!

I told them he was not due for another year,but I didn't have the paperwork with me to prove it and I live 40 min away so I couldn't just run home to get it! So when I got home,I could not find his paperwork,so I made a appointment at his vet to get a rabies shot cause I needed him groomed before Christmas! I made another appointment for Tuesday December 22nd at petsmart,left work early again and when I got there,they tell me they could not groom him,because you have to wait 48hrs after his shot before they can groom him!!

NOBODY told me that,so 40 min drive one way 4 times, leaving work early twice,$28 for another rabies shot and still no grooming!!! I will NEVER go back to petsmart again,they lost a loyal customer!!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

PetSmart Cons: No comunication.

You can't be mad that they wouldn't groom him without proof. Do you know how many people would say that their pets are updated on rabies when they really aren't, if petsmart just took someone's word for it?

It's for the pets safety and the groomers safety.

If a pet who isn't updated on rabies bites someone they are either quarantined for 10days or they are euthanized, their head is cut off and sent out to a lab for rabies testing.

If his Rabies vaccine was still good for another year then why didn't you just call your vet so they could fax the records over or have them call petsmart and give them the date of the vaccine? Why give him another vaccine if the one he has was still good?

Sorry, but the only thing they are at fault here for is not telling you about the 48hr policy after getting a vaccine.

It's not their fault that you didn't bring the paperwork. It's not their fault you couldn't find the paperwork.

It's not their fault that you didn't just call your vet and have them fax the history over. It's not their fault that you chose to re vaccinate him.

It's not their fault you waited until the last minute for him to be groomed. It's not their fault that you scheduled him on a day you are working instead of scheduling on your day off.
