we fed our Cat Lucky Petsmart Sophistacat Sliced Chicken Cacciatore on Sunday, August 15, 2010 and at 1:30am on Monday morning Aug. 16,2010 he woke us up vomitting badly his conditioned continue to get worst so finally Monday evening we knew he wasn't getting better so we took him to our Vet in emergency he ended up staying at the Vet's for 7 days because he had been poisioned from eating this food from Petsmart and Petmart won't take the responsibility for this or help with the Vet Bills or anything even know this food was on Recall on the FDA web site. Petsmart doesn't care about Pets just about money, so don't shop there if you care about your Pets or they will die.

Yes Sophisticat is a propriatary brand, but its also the cheapist food in the store. You get what you pay for.

It has not been recalled, your cat was probably allergic to something in the food, or has a low tollerance to one of the ingredients. Or possibly because you changed foods, or even something that has nothing to do with the food.

Unless you can physically prove that it was that food, and not some other reason Petsmart should't give you a dime. In fact the Sophisticate brand should pay not PetSmart.

Really? Are you serious?

Why on earth would you think that this is PetSmarts fault? They do not produce the food. Get a life. I in fact there is a product issue go after the manufacturer.

It does not take a PHD to figure out that the store selling the product does not have anything to do with the ingredients.

What wrong with this world these day. Take some responsibility and act accordingly.

The original poster is talking about Sophistacat canned food WHICH is made by Petsmart. I don't know what royal canin and friskies have to do with anything....I've been feeding my 2 cats the RC canned food and they've been fine. You can't blame it on the food, unless it's proven.

I don't know why you are so angry at Petsmart. Royal Canin and Friskies are popular brands that are sold at many different stores. You need to place your anger with the people who deserve it, the companies that made the product.

It has happened 2xs to me with Friskies Canned Cat food. I thought the first time was a fluke.

The second time, no way. The food was putrid and the way managment handled the situation at Petsmart was just as bad.

I am now writing to both Friskies and Petsmart. Will keep you posted.

Please, I would be very interested to learn if you, or anyone else has had this issue with Petsmart's Cat food or with Friskies Canned Cat food in particular purchased from anyother business.

I agree with Kevin.

Has anyone else had problems with PetSmart canned cat food? I fed my cat Royal Canin cat food purchased from PetSmart.

The vet asked me if it could have been anything she ate that might have caused her to get sick. I never considered it to be her catfood until now. Now my cat is dead. By the way if you try to complain to the manager they will give you the wrong phone # for customer service.

Finally I got the right phone # online.

It is 1-62*-***-****. Good Luck!
